Small Business Training Institute

The Small Business Advisory Committee was established as a committee of the State Training Board in 2007 for a 12 month period. The purpose of the Small Business Advisory Committee was to provide advice on strategies to:

• improve the quality of and access to business-related training for small business operators; and
• promote the benefits of training to the small business sector.

In response to the Small Business Advisory Committee’s recommendations, the Small Business Solutions program was developed. West Coast Small Business Training Institute delivers the Small Business Solutions program which operates via a team of mobile training brokers and business mentors throughout Western Australia including two customer service centres in Joondalup and Fremantle. The program gives small businesses expert advice and guidance through access to personalised one-on-one mentoring from qualified and experienced small business professionals.

Comprehensive consultation with government and industry has resulted in the Small Business Training Institute providing a collaborative solution with strong ongoing partnerships via the Small Business Solutions Program.
