Vocational Education and Training Act
The State Training Board is an established Board under the Vocational Education and Training Act 1996 (VET Act).
The VET Act identifies the structure of the State Training Board and its many functions. It details the establishment, constitution, functions and powers of the State Training Board. It also details further provisions relating to committees of the Board and the Annual report.

Important Changes
In June 2009, the Bill to amend the Vocational Education and Training Act 1996 and to repeal the Industrial Training Act 1975 was proclaimed.
Public Register of Apprenticeships and Traineeships Qualifications
Under the amended Vocational Education and Training Act 1996, all prescribed vocational education and training qualifications are now classified according to the mode of training delivery.
