Training Matters Volume 6 September/October 2009
Training Matters is a quarterly publication which provides high quality and informative editorial about the latest news and developments in the Western Australian training sector.
 
The full colour magazine has a distribution of 12,000 is read throughout the training sector by training providers and practitioners, industry advisory groups, State and Australian Government personnel, employers and other key personnel within the field.

Training together – working together is an initiative of the Minister for Training, in collaboration with Aboriginal communities and industry, to increase the number of Aboriginal people in training for sustainable employment in Western Australia.

Training WA: Planning for the future 2009-2018
In May 2009, the Minister for Training released a plan for the future of Western Australia's training system for the next 10 years. The plan aims to transform the State's training system and position Western Australia to respond to future employment demands.  It includes immediate, medium and long term initiatives as the blueprint for the Government's investment in the State's training system.

National VET Sector Sustainability Policy and Action Plan (2009-2012)
The National VET Sector Sustainability Policy and Action Plan (2009-2012) was recently released by the Ministerial Council for Vocational and Technical Education (MCVTE).  The plan aims to advance sustainability in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector and will provide direction for the national delivery of specialist skills in alternative and renewable energy technologies.

Workforce Futures for the Goldfields - Esperance Region
In September 2007, the Minister for Education and Training, and the Minister for Goldfields-Esperance, jointly released a media statement announcing the formation of the Goldfields-Esperance Workforce Development Alliance (Steering Committee) and the commissioning of the Goldfields-Esperance Workforce Development Plan in conjunction with the State Training Board.

The Department of Education and Training is progressively commissioning workforce development plans for all nine regions in Western Australia.
